Hi, I have noticed that when it comes to the 4th commandment a lot of professing Christians misquote a few scriptures to try and prove that the 4th commandment was done away with and that we are not under the law. But please read my example below of how silly that sounds.
Pretend that I was a thief that went out every Friday night and broke into peoples houses to steal their goods. And then afterwards I said to myself, "I obey most of God's commandments, and besides, I'm not under the law, so I can live my life as a thief and still get into the kingdom of heaven because I'm not under the law."
Can you see how silly that sounds. The Bible does say that if the Son sets you free, you shall be free indeed. I agree. Because of Jesus we can be free from the bondage of sin. But some people twist it by saying that Christians are free from obeying the 10 commandments. We do not keep the 10 commandments to be saved, we keep the 10 commandments because we love God and want to obey him. But I do believe that if a person deliberately sins after they have been saved and does not repent, they may lose their salvation. The Bible teaches obedience more often than many people think.
The fourth commandment is no different. God never changed the Sabbath day to Sunday, nor did He do away with it. You can preach on all the other 9 commandments and Christians will say "Amen" But when you preach on the fourth commandment Christians will accuse you of legalism. And then they will misquote Colossians 2:16 which refers to the laws written on paper and not the 10 commandment law written in stone. We need to follow God instead of the traditions of men.
