I've taken an interest in photograpy and have purchased a couple of Canon cameras and a number of lenses. Was thinking of going over to Apple and purchasing a 17'' MacBook Pro for travelling and a 27'' Imac for home. I've never had an Apple computer before and was just going through the options available for the MacBook Pro. They want $579 for 2 extra years of warranty! I bought a Toshiba Satellite Pro 17'' 2 years ago and bought 3 extra years of warranty to go with the 2 that came with it giving me 5, and it didn't cost anywhere near that amount. Now I'm having serious 2nd thoughts. Apple mustn't have much faith in their products past the initial 12 months if they have to charge that much for 2 extra years. What the life span of an Apple computer?
