Next year in marching band, I've been wanting to be in the drumline. Even though my main instrument is clarinet, we're a pretty good AAA class school, so I would be able to try out for it. I wouldn't be alone in changing instruments, a percussionist is playing baritone, a bassoonist is playing bari sax, we have a baritone player in pit, a bari sax player on 4th bass...the list goes on. Originally I wanted to march snare, but after looking at all of it, I couldn't keep up with them. Then I wanted to march bass drum. But, then I started looking at the tenor drum. I've always really liked them, and after looking at the music and playing some of it out on the table, I think with some practice, I could get it.
I was just wondering, what's it like to march tenor drums? Like, how easy/hard is it, how heavy are they, is it fun...?
