Can you tell me what your symptoms were?

I have been on a PPI for almost a year and now I have intense spinal pain between the shoulder blades. Just trying to figure it out if it's reflux irritating the esophogus and radiating to my back or is it actually spinal pain???

Anyone else have spine pain with their esophogus problems?

TIA

Hi Binky/TIA...have you had any x-rays, EGD or GI series to rule out hiatal hernia(or other digestive problems). Not only do I have the pain in the spine areas, I also have some nurabess there as well. I continued dealing the pain without complaint because I also have Lupus and Fibromyalgia which from I understand causes pain. If you are having any problems with swallowing, SOB when you eat, fullness, bloating and vomiting please contact a GI MD. Some of these symptoms can be sign of a major problem. I am currently in the process of scheduling surgery to correct this problem that I ignored which could be life threatening if not repaired. To say that my pain and nurabness in my back is related to the problem I have..I don't know. MRI does not show nerve impingement and I had shinges in the same area years ago so it could be some neuropathy. Please post as I would like to see your progress with improvement. take care and be blessed! Pix

I was diagnoised with a small hiatel hernia about 10 years ago. Last time I had a barium (2 years ago) it was not there.

Have been on PPI's for a year now, after I went to the doctor about my spine pain. Said it was probably reflux.

Spine pain is back and went to my naturopath, she said my spine was in spasm. Got six injections of a natural muscle relaxant around my spine (last thursday). Took the pain away for two days.

I have further treatments coming up next week. So I am assuming it is muscle related at this point.
