In my physics class I'm taking, this question stumped me. Could anyone help please?
(4) A 5.0 kg object is pulled over a rough surface by a 100 newtons (N = newtons) force directed at an angle of 14 degrees with respect to the surface. If the coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.40, find the acceleration of the object.
Then it gives a list of information that you need to fill out.
Find the force, weight, normal force and frictional force for both the x-component and y-component
Σ Fx =
Σ Fy =
So far I have determined the force for the x-component is 24.2 N, the W is 49 N and the normal force is 49 N. The force for the y-component is 97.0 N, W = 49 W and normal force is 49.0 Newtons. Could you help with the rest? Thanks!
