This is in Canada. My mother went to the emergency department at a hospital, they didn't ask her any of her medical history (but she DID try to give them the paper with ALL of her medications and medical history, but no one would listen). The drug is levofloxacin and it's 750 mg. She takes a lot of medications that would SEVERELY interfere with taking this drug. She has diabetes, she takes cholesterol pills, blood pressure pills (not supposed to have blood pressure problem) she takes water pills, she also takes a blood thinner, she had cardio monopathy for 16 years, just in the last year it has faded away. With all of these problems and medications, she is NOT supposed to be taking the medication that they gave her (it is listed pamplet for the medication). She phoned the health nurse, and she didn't seem happy and told her to get herself checked out, because she takes to many things that will interfere with the levofloxacin.
Can we press charges against the doctor?
This is Ontario.
