I was just out fishing with my mom and step-dad when I caught a fish that had a bunch of red sores that looked like pimples on it. What were the red sores, and why did some of the fish have the red sores.
They are caused by a parasite that burrows into the fishes skin. The wildlife biologist tell me that the fish can still be eaten without harm to humans. But when I catch one that has the red sores, I throw it back in.The thought of it being eaten is not too appetizing to me.We have them in some of our bass population in Louisiana, and I am sure they will infest some of the other species of fish also.
