A question posed earlier got me thinking of another question I've been meaning to ask. Alabama law, as I'm sure most state laws, state that a child has to be one year AND 20 pounds to be in a front facing car seat. My first son was twenty pounds by the time he was six months old and my second son is six months old and is within a pound of being tweny pounds. Is it average or normal for kids to be one year old and only be twenty pounds? How to they determine the weight vs. age when they make the requirements?
