My school system pretty much sucks, and half the people in my country don't even know who Hitler is. Even though I'm not that bad, I admit there's alot of history I should know if I ever intend to be a well rounded adult.
I found the book A People's History of the World: Chris Harman online. Is it good? Does it cover things such as the war of 1812, WWI,WII the vietnam war...etc?
I know I can read these things online but its definitely much easier for me to read large volumes of information off computer screens for some reason.
Is it also fairly comprehensive and explains things thoroughly to those who are likely not to know too much about anything historical? I want to really separate myself from my idiot classmates and teachers who don;t take how important a knowledge of world history is.
Any other books you may advise would be great
