¨My superiority relies on my lack of heart¨ Jean Arthur Rimbaud.
Do you agree or disagree? To what extent? Why? Examples? If you want 10 points you best make your point.

When a girl tells me, "A penny for your thoughts." I always smile and respond, "A dollar for your body." Then we both laugh.

I agree with this statement because of the accurate way that it portrays superiority. Superiority is completely interpretive and relative- it is not something you can just label yourself. People who have passion, a big heart, and truely love what they do realize that they don't know all the answers and therefore dig deeper and examine things much more closely than those who think that they already know all the answers. Therefore the idea of superiority relies on someone not caring enough to realize that they may not be all that they think they are (i.e a lack of heart).

I guess I have to agree that superiority over others would require a lack of heart. If it is indeed a statement about ego and the inferiority inference towards others. Those who have emotions and feelings towards others and the positions they are in would not feel a sense of superiority but a sense of empathy.
If it is meant in another context, well the word superior still infers a supreme status over others. Matters of the heart usually fall under the emotion category. Such emotions: love, friendship, empathy, kindness, and concern usually are in conflict with the descriptions of superiority. Superiority could be expressed in ways of material success or skills and talents. I think that an ego or just a general sense of feeling elevated in position of others to that degree is not in line with matters of the heart but a lack of matters of the heart.
