A New TMNT Series?

Well, what I heard is that there are only 6 episodes of TMNT: Fast Forward left to air, after which the Turtles will return to the present and a new TMNT season will begin that more based on the TNMT movies.

Word in the Ninja Turtle fandom is that the show is being rebranded to be more like the 2007 movie. After Fast Forward ends, the next season will probably be named "TMNT" and have more of a movie influence in.

Its most likely still the same continuity, since 4kids also marketed "Fast Forward" as a "new series" despite the fact that it was obviously just another season. Since the title of the show is changing again, I imagine that's why its being called a new series since the FF brand will be dropped.

I think we may see some design changes to mirror the movie designs, and the show may be something like the way B:TAS changed into TNBA. Different designs for the show and characters, but still a continuation from everything before it. That's my guess, apparently the licensing show in NYC on June 19th will confirm it.

The only thing that I worry about is that they might try to screw up the ending to "Fast Forward", I know not everyone has enjoyed but I have and I want to see how the story ends. I don't want another screwup like the "Ninja Tribunal/Lost Season" thing were they pull the episodes then say that they are going to release them on dvd and then push them to the back burner and do something else entirely.

so this is the end for Fast Forward.
w/ the next revamp slated for next Fall perhaps this means that 4Kids will air the "Lost Season" following the premiere and rerun cycle of FF. Perhaps next Spring we'll finally see the Tribunal arc.

The "Lost Season" airing seems to be a done deal. The episodes people are thinking wont be aired are Nightmares Recycled (not finished) and Membership Drive (aired back in March).

"Just got back from a day of meetings at 4Kids Entertainment and among the many gems learned/decided upon today is that the "lost" Ninja Tribunal episodes WILL finally air on Fox in the US (minus 1 or 2 non-NT continuity episodes)... but not until sometime in 2008."

early buzz indicates that FF will return the Turtles to the present and the next stream of stories will be in line w/ the film...at least in tone...probably not direct derivatives of film continuity.

That's a nicer term than what I was going to say. To me the best thing to do, would be to make it either apart of the first episode of the new series or the entire plot of the first episode of the new series. I'd prefer it if an older and more experinced version of Renet showed and explained that she was the reason that Turtles were brought to the future to fight Shabnoku and prevent the invasion, and she was the one that kept the Turtles here until they had completed the mission, and that now they were needed back in their own time.

I'm guessing that it's going be a cross between the two. (a continuation that doesn't heavily follow any plotlines from the original, so that no knowledge of the original is needed)

Yes, I'd love to see that instead. I just find it irritating that they're animating a scene specifically for the TV airing and it will never be on DVD.

Though, if this is true, then maybe 4Kids might air The Day of Awakening as the final episode rather than Zixxth Sense (which would make more sense, as I'd rather see Fast Forward end on a plot-driven episode rather than filler).

interesting tidbit. they mentioned the comcast episode didn't have this new animation. specualtion is that the 4kids television debut will. any word if this is on the current dvd release? I've boycotted Fast Forward dvds until they release the Tribunal arc on dvd.
