Bizzare question to ask but can anyone explain why the "Love is Gone" song by Belle has been removed from the DVD R2 version of this film, when its still on the R1 version release?

That's odd! I know whenever they show the film on TV that song is removed, but I never thought they'd cut it altogether!

I read it was because they thought children wouldn't appreciate the lack of muppets in the scene.

If true, that is nonsense and children are perfectly able to use the fast-forward feature on the remote controls - they aren't stupid and are usually very quick at picking up on how to use technology. I was able to fast-forward videos when I was five; it's just a case of the industry treating the viewer with contempt, again.
