My dad is asking me to get a dog that can guard the house. I would really prefer a labrador but my dad doesn't want one because it's too friendly, he wants a dog wouldn't let strangers inside the house. I would love an Akita but it's a bit too pricey. We live in a tropical country, so the dog has to tolerate warm weather. I've researched over the internet and now I'm torn between a malinois and a chow spitz (they have the same price range, a pure chow chow is really expensive). What do you think of the two breeds? Are there any other medium-sized dogs who would stand in the way of intruders?
