A little hobby never hurt anyone

I'm working on a lot of crafty things right now and I just realized it's helping my anxiety focusing on that and having a feeling of accomlishment. I still get shortness of breath while doing it, but it's not constant and actually better that it normally is. Has anyone found their hobbies relaxing and helpful?
 
I find crocheting and knitting most relaxing. Gives me something to do with my hanRAB; I have also resumed some sewing. AND I'm trying to avoid some of the news!
 
I completely agree with the previous posts. I suffer from GAD, and it definitely gets worse when I have nothing to do. I think the abscence of any task/activity to deal with, my mind keeps itself busy by critiquing every little thing or trying to find problems where there are none. When I am forced to focus on a task for school/work/hobby, it tenRAB to make me put aside the self-critiquing for a little while. Still trying to find a hobby that I really enjoy though...
