A block of mass 20kg is held in equilibrium on a plane by means of a string which is held at an angle of 25 degrees to the greatest slope of the plane. The plane is at 40 degrees to the horizontal.
Show that the tension in the string is about 139N and find the normal reaction of the plane on the block.
Could anyone help me with this? I thought I knew what I was doing, but I was wrong. The answer to the second part (normal reaction of the plane on the block) is 91.4N.
Thanks, much appreciated.
Thanks, I think I understand that now. How is the second part of the question worked out?
