this is the question from the book

when orienteering, Jack walks xkm on a bearing of 100degrees from his starting point 0
then ykm on a bearing of 200degrees to a hut H.
calculate the magnitude and direction of the displacement vector 0H(an arrow from 0 to H is on top)
when
b) x=6, y=6

if anyone can help it would be great

You are adding the vectors:
(6,100) + (6,200) = (r,?)
After sketching the problem express in rectangular form:
(6 cos 100, 6 sin 100) + (6 cos 200, 6 sin 200) = (x, y)
x = -2.084, y=3.86
Now convert to polar coordinates:
r = ?(-2.084)^2+(3.86)^2) = 4.78
tan ref<? = 3.86/2.084
ref < ? =61.6
Looking t the sketch we find ? = 180 - 61.6
? = 118.4
The resultant is (4.78, 118.4)
