If uncontested, a magistrate will work. If contested, or property needs to be divided, you can speed it up by hiring a mediator (both sides have to agree). A mediator is a lot cheaper than lawyers and a court room battle. When mediation is done, you both sign the agreement, present it to the court for ratification, and you are done. Much faster.
