does anybody know one? It has to be close to this time period at least (preferably a recent story) and go into depth about this virtue. If it doesn't, that's okay, but I need an article to work off of and I cannot find one. I thought maybe people would have a fave article or something that they could give me a link to. I know for a report on India I saved a link to a powerful article, so if anybody has one to what I just asked for, that'd be great! (and no, you're not doing my homework for me, so don't worry)

thx! xxxx

You couldn't possibly come up with a better story than the Maddoff pyramid scheme. This was/is a situation that was (and continues to be) destined to affect the retirements of many thousands of seniors directly and, indirectly, the fortunes of their heirs.

On all levels, from Wall Street analysts to IRS auditors examining the books of mutual fund back rooms to pension funds to brokerage firms to broker-dealers who regularly wholesale investment vehicle opportunities to....gosh, the list is endless!---hundreds of thousands of unsuspecting retail investors have been irreparably damaged by the failure of official inquiries to intervene on their behalf. Eyebrows were raised for years, some of which were on government payrolls, yet nobody pulled the alarm switch.

For the record, I was not damaged by this latter day financial holocaust.
