A good lounge in D.C. or near D.C. to have a 21st Birthday party?

I am looking for a good club but preferably a lounge to have my 21st birthday party...it wouldn't be alot of guest probably between 10-15. Does anyone have any good ideas or good experiences at great places? I would like to still be able to dance but I am really not feeling the over the top scene at certain clubs. Any suggestions would help, thanks!
When I say over the top I'm talking about there being so many people you can't dance or really crazy dancing. Not really my thing.
 
That's the thing about DC. A lot of clubs call themselves lounges, and lounges try to be clubs. A lounge is a cocktail room, smaller than a club, with couches, chairs, and tables, and usually a bar. The music is usually like an ambiance, it's dark and there is a lot of chic furniture and unique lighting, and there is a cocktail waitress, usually in a sexy black number that serves you. The sometime sell small plates and appetizers, but drinks is where they make all they're money. A club is a loud, big open space, where people drink and dance. The only sitting is in the VIP room or a bottle service area that usually ranges minimum 3 bottles or anywhere from 400-1,000 for the night. You sound like you need a club. Try, The Park at 14th, Josephine, LOVE nightclub, H20, Posh and K Street lounge. Those are the hottest right now.
 
There are a bunch of bars in DC that have dance floors you can go to but will probably be over the top, if you want to find bars by what features they have use an online phone book to search for them! There are also good cocktail lounges that might interest you like Duccinis or Stetson's Famous Bar & Restaurant. Just depends on exactly what you are looking for : >
