A friend and myself want to enter into some fishing tournaments. Where should we start?

My friend and I go bass fishing practically every weekend so were talking and thought it would be fun to fish in a tournament one weekend. The thing is, we are not sure where to start. Are there tournament series for new commers like us? If it helps, we are down in North Carolina near Lake Norman (Yes, the pending FLW tourny factored into this idea!). We don't expect to come in and win us some big prizes, just more of the experience and fun (For now at least), but who knows, maybe a lucky day!

Also, is there some good website (I can't seem to find one) where you can find local tournaments from maybe local sponsors or of the such that wouldn't be on a national website?

Any guidence is appreciated!!!
