Now i do understand that if you don't enjoy a film the 1st time then you might never give it another viewing. But for those that have given a film another chance. What film or films was it?

From the films that i remember just now

The first time i saw the film "Seven" i didn't enjoy it.Then 1 night BBC1 were showing it & i thought i'd give it another try & i enjoyed it.

"Team America" was another film that i seemed to enjoy 2nd viewing.I went to see the film in the cinema & i got that bored with it i fell asleep. Then about a year later there was a few of us round at a frienRAB house & my friend put the film on.i enjoyed the film alot more.

Zodiac.

Watched it first time round and it bugged the hell out of me, everyone in that film just mumbles their way trough their lines, I couldn't hear a word anyone said.

Watched it the other day (with the subtitles on) and realised it was quite a decent film.

The Green Mile. For some reason first time I saw it I came away totally disappointed with it after all the hype. 2nd time though a few years later and I loved it. Appreciated it much more

The Matrix - Saw it at the cinema first time round and just couldn't understand what all the fuss was about. FrienRAB told me I was odd for thinking it an ordinary film but I was sure it was just that until I saw the lobby scene again months later on a screen as I walked through a branch of HMV......it stopped me in my tracks and I bought the DVD there and then. Loved the film when I watched it for the second time. Shame about the sequels!:(:(

40 Year Old Virgin - Watched it when it first came out on DVD and thought it was complete unfunny tosh. Watched it again and thought it was hilarious (if not about 15 mins too long)

Moulin Rouge - Was a bit meh about it on first viewing, but I wasn't giving it my full attention. Watched it again and it's now one of my favourite films.

2001: A Space Odyssey
Ghost in the Shell
Pi
Apocalyspe Now

Films that still suck, even after trying again and again to get into them:

Blade Runner
Taxi Driver
Moulin Rouge
Gangs of New York

I had the misfortune to catch a chunk of GONY on Channel 4; I watched for as long as I did in disbelief, trying to decide whether or not it was meant to be a comedy.

"Team America" for me as the OP said.

Also "Napoleon Dynamite" I just didn't "get it" first viewing although after giving it another watch I enjoyed it much more.

totally agree with moulin rouge, i liked it on first viewing, realised how amazing it actaully was on the second time

also Hot Fuzz - didn't find it funny at first but after watching it i began to see why a lot of people loved it

I was sooooooo disappointed in Anchorman- maybe I need to see it again??:D:D

For me it was FIGHT CLUB! (Shocking I know!)

Didnt really enjoy it much the first time I saw it but has really grown on me over several viewings.

On a more fluffy note- I raved to my little sis about the joys of the Lion King, which she'd seen before and was a bit "meh" about...

Anyhoo- she saw it again, fell madly in love with it and is now OBSESSED with it!!!:D:D

2 films for me.
Batman Returns.
Didnt like on the first viewing then began to enjoy more after a couple more viewings.

Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the ring.
Thought it was utter pants at the cinema(probably didnt help that I fell asleep)
When it came out of DVD I would not let my wife buy it,but she said it was a bargain as we got it for under

Hype can kill your initial viewing pleasure. I saw Independance Day in the cinema and it was so hyped I was expecting Citizen Kane In Space. I felt cheated and got so angry during the President's sacharyne coated speech I was threatened with eviction for shouting at the screen :D
A few years later I called at a frienRAB and he'd just put it on for his young niece so I couldn't be arsey and insist he switch it off. To my horror I actually loved it - maybe because I was expecting it to be absolute shizen!

Blade Runner is stupendously good! Have you ever watched the Final Cut of it? I rented it on Blu-ray and fell in love with the film all over again. It's one of the best sci-fi films ever made, along with 2001 and Alien, also Jim Cameron's sci-fi flicks.

One film that without a doubt IS shit, and I've seen it 4 times in disbelief just to make extra sure, is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull! OK it's not 100% bad, Harrison Ford and Shia LaBeouf work really well together, it's just EVERYTHING ELSE about the film that's dire! Especially John Hurt's character, the pointless idea that Cate Blanchett's Russian character is somehow psychic and yet nothing is done with that ability, the absolutely ridiculous ending, the infamous 'nuke the fridge' scene, the monkeys, the stupidly overblown CG effects shots that feel out of place in the Indy universe.

I've tried two or three times since 2002 to watch Blade Runner, growing up a few years each time, and thinking maybe one day I'll get it. But I don't.

Don't get me wrong. I love the concept, but the film is incredibly boring for me, and though I've tried and tried to get into it, I just don't get it.

Oh and the only film I like in the Alien series is Aliens. I found Alien too boring, and I found three and four ridiculous. Maybe it has something to do with the fact I'm used ti special effects of the late seventies, and I first watch Alien when I was about 20 - it bored me to tears.

Gangs of New York is the worst film I've ever seen. I had to see it again to believe it, but yeah, what a big bag of shag.

I haven't seen Indiana Jones' most recent outing, but my brother shares your view.

I didn't like 28 Days Later first time I saw it, now I really like it.

Can't think of anything else, most things I don't bother with a second time If I didn't like them to begin with. Got other films to get through!

Rocky Horror Picture Show..

I first watched it late at night on bbc 2 (a loooong time ago) and I hadn't got a clue what was going on. Saw it again a few years later and I loved it. One of my fave films now :)
