Can someone please explain the following questions step by step please? I have copied them out exactly.
3. Two loudspeakers emit 330 Hz sounds of equal amplitude, A, and intensity, I, in phase. The speakers are 2 m apart and face each other. (The speed of sound in air is 330 m/s).
a. What is the wavelength of the sound?
b. Ignoring the reduction of amplitude with distance from each speaker, state the amplitude and intensity of sound:
i. halfway between the speakers
ii. 0.25 m from either speaker
iii. 0.5 m from either speaker
c. What would happen to your answers to b if the connections to one of the speakers were reversed?
4. Two equal-amplitude sound sources are heard together. Their frequencies are 500 Hz and 502 Hz.
a. Sketch a graph of pressure vs time at the observer's ear for a period of 2 seconds.
b. What would the effect of:
i. halving the amplitude of one source
ii. increasing the frequency of the higher frequency source to 503 Hz
ii. reversing the connections to one of the speakers.
5. Young's fringes are formed using slits separated by 0.60 mm and projected onto a screen at a distance of 1.4 m. Twelve fringe separations occupy a distance of 16 mm.
a. What is the wavelength off the light?
b. What colour is this?
c. If the whole apparatus was submerged in water of refractive index 1.3, what would be the new fringe separation?
Thanks in advance, and I need the answers quickly.
