Question #1:
I have 2 female and 1 male normal guppies, they are nothing special, and have only 1 colour on each of them, one of the female gave birth a while ago, and now one of the babies has colour! and is quite big, but, to my surprise, it is a fancy guppy, with like 3 differentcolorss in its tail, and tiny little black spots. Another one of the babies is half black, and my females are red, and my male is yellow with a tiny tiny bit of red. How can this be? or does it not matter about the parent, but how well you take care of them, and their diet?
Question # 2
I have a dragon goby, when i bought him, he was very dull in colour, and i had to treat him for fin rot. He is in a brackish aquarium (not with guppies or any of my other tropical fish) His tank is 75 gal, sand bottom. I read that when these gobys are kept in an optimal environment, they will go a bright vibrant violet... Mine turned violet, a very bright vibrant violet!! BUT, he has minor ammonia poisoning, that i am treating, with API's Ammo-Lock Ammonia Detoxifier. He eats frozen, but not freeze-dried blood worms once daily.
Question #3
In my tropical tank (without salt), I have 2 corydoras, 3 sailfin mollies, 2 gouramis, 3 guppys, 3 guppy fry (although one is getting pretty big, and I do not do anything, other than have a plentiful amount of plants, to aid their survival), 1 platy. Can any of these fish survive in the Brackish water tank I have?
P.S- i have one dragon goby in there to see how long they would survive in freshwater, for my own piece of mind, because some sites say they could never survive more than a week, some say they will survive, but their life span will be cut very short, and some say they simply adapt, and have no problems.
Question #4
In my tropical tank, their used to be 2 platy... now I can only find one... there are no remains anywhere, and I checked everywhere within a 10 foot distance around the tank (open top tank) and cant find it anywhere!!!! I even took my pump apart, to see it i could find even a fin, and nothing!!! Did the rest of my fish brutally attack and consume him over the weekend, while I was out of town?
Question #5
My goby in the freshwater tank is also a violet (was a dull grey, ragged fish with severe ammonia poisoning, when I bought him) I've treated him, and now he regained his color and vibrancey, eating very well... he been doing well now for over 1 month. Do you think he could have adapted?
Thanks, Sorry for them being so long! lol
