A few questions in preparation for deer season?

Question one,
Is it ok for me to store my gun in a hard plastic gun case with foam linings? Keep in mind I have about 5 large packs of silica gel in the case to keep out moisture.

Question 2
How can I make my front sight stick out more without having to spend a lot of money?
