Hey all! I'm a 21 year old female that is sexually active. My partner uses condoms and I am completely STD free since he has been my only partner and vice versa. My mother does not see eye to eye with me on views of sex and she believes that I am still a virgin. I am wanting to visit a doctor or clinic that can make sure that I am doing okay "down there". My mother thinks that I don't need to go to the doctor since I am not sexually active in her eyes. I am wanting to make an appointment. I am not entirely sure on how to go about making an appointment--meaning do I need a pap smear? STD testing? I am wanting to get birth control and want to take the appropriate measures of getting checked out beforehand so that I can get prescribed to birth control. What do I need to tell the doctor what I am making the appointment for? All advice would be much appreciated!
