So my girlfriend is trying to strip me of my natural interest in science and technology because she says it doesn't have any affect on my life. She basically says I should just use a computer without knowing how it works. She argues that knowing how it works should be reserved solely for those who build computers and to no one else. Everytime I mention something interesting Ive read pertaining to advances in science, she gawks and tells me how pointless it is. HOWEVER, she'll sit there on her laptop and watch YouTube videos on make up and beauty. Is it right for my girlfriend to mentally suppress me to such an extent whereby I lose my natural interests just so that she doesn't become enraged when I mention something I like?
