I cannot think of a topic for my English paper. I need to be able to present both sides of an argument about a current event that is occurring. I want to try and stay away from politics because of the difficulty I would have seeing the other side of the argument even though I don't have to agree with it. I was thinking about either doing aerial shootings in Alaska, oil drilling in Alaska (especially after the BP oil spill), or something relating to bullying which has lead to teen suicides. What do you think of these ideas, and what other topic would be good to write about?
The only problem with doing it on bullying is I don't see an argument to it. Secondly, I am also thinking about doing it on the causes of mental illness. It was widely discussed and different people and doctors claim something different.
