...allowed to melt...? will the water overflow, or will the water level stay the same. those are the only two choices given to me.

I'm confused though. since ice takes up more space than water, shouldn't the water level actually go down once the ice melts? please help me out here.
-None of the ice is sticking out of the water
- but i still don't understand why the water level doesn't go down because when ice melts, the resulting water takes up less space i thought
