Ok so I got 3 adoption fish from petco 4 days ago. Adoption fish are fish that are dropped off at the store that people don't want so they give them to you free. I was told they were platies. They are all orange no black or yellow markings. Although one them has a red stripe down it's side. What kind of fish are they? What is the difference between the male and female?
This morning I went to go feed them and in the tank was a little tiny orange fleck swimming. A baby. I then saw it get eaten. I had no idea that my fish had laid eggs. Could there be more eggs? One of the fish are constantly going back to stare at the same plant. It's hidden so I can't really see anything but Im suspicious there are eggs there.
