A/C on 98 Buick LeSabre Limited?

i have a 98 buick leSabre limited that i bought recently. The problem is the a/c doesn't blow out cold air and it wont blow out of the vent pointed at your face only the defrost and feet vents...I had a mechanic check the problem and he tested the levels of free-on and it didn't need refilled..he said something about a dapper valve WTF is that?? is it some kind of vaccuum line??any answers will b helpful THANKS ALOT
 
"H.V.A/C Shop!!" He's talking about the "Vent Directional Control" that control the Vent doors in the Air Ducts" (Yours may be Vacuum Controlled) Line may be Broken. Is the Blower Fan Working? If Yes the A/C System may be Overcharged or you have a Bad A/C Compressor. H.V.A/C (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) Shop can help Better!
 
I think he meant damper valve. There is a flap that moves for directing air either to the floor or to the face.
Either he means this flap, or the vacuum control valve that moves it.
