Remanufactured one is as good as new, but it you must have new just check your local GM dealer or AC Delco parts place. The problem is not likely the compressor's fault but more likely the installer. If you shelled a compressor changing the compressor is only one step you need to change orifice and receiver drier as well. Adding a filter would be good also as metal is in the system causing the premature failures.
