A bit worried labour will progress too quickly; advice and experiences?

I was induced with baby #1 at 41 weeks and my labour progressed extremely fast, just 5 hours from the very first contraction I felt until I was delivering the placenta.

I'm now 37 weeks with baby #2 and I'm a bit nervous by all the stories I've read (on here and elsewhere) about 2nd labours being faster than 1st ones! I do live quite close to the hospital, and I have my bag packed and ready, etc, but here is my main concern: If and when I go into labour I really want my partner with me, and for my older son to go to his granddad's house for a day or two, It will take about an hour for my partner to get home from work and my father-in-law to get here to look after my son. (I don't have any relatives living closer.)

I don't want to be forever calling everyone out for a false alarm, but I'm just worried that if I wait until I know 100% I'm definitely in labour then I won't get enough notice to make it all happen!

Do you think its possible that my 1st labour was only that fast because I was induced? Can anyone re-assure me with any personal experiences of my situation?
