I found it on craigslist and it is very nice low miles and cheap. It will be my first car. He says its small and is dangerous for crashes. I compared it with my mothers toyota corola and is practially the same size. Also i have read on the internet that the Civic is a non reliable car. Is this true?

Serious answers only please.

We did not see many problems with the older generation civics, good suspension and the engine and transmissions never seemed to have problems. The one important thing is to make sure the timing belt is replaced every 105k miles. It would be a wise investment to have an inspection done on the vehicle before you make the commitment of purchasing it. As for safety it really depends on the circumstances but all in all it will problem get the worst of most accidents.
