I just bought a 99 WaveRunner Gp760. When I went to go pick it up the guy said he hadn't run it since last July (about 9 months ago. He put a battery in it and it took about 2 minutes of cranking and it started . Sounded good idled nice and ran fine.
I got it home. and tried to start it the next day and it would not start at all. So I put new gas in it. a can of seafoam and new plugs and a new fuel filter and a new battery. and then it started.
The next day I tried to start it again and It wont not start for along time. But I did get it to start. It sounded ok reved nice and idled fine. Tried again the next day and again it wouldnt start, So I firgured the carbs must be dirty so I took them off bought a kit and had my Dad rebiuld the carbs (been a mechanic for years). I put all new intake gaskets in it and put the carbs back on and Now it will only start if I spray fuel in the top of the carbs it will start and run for a few seconds and then die and wont start again unless I spray fuel in the carbs.
I checked the the fuel line and I can suck fuel through the line. and I have spark it just wont start unless I spray the carbs with fuel.
Anybody have any advice on what to look for ??
