Hello everyone,
I have a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire GT with the 2.4L, automatic. Just recently, it's been having a problem(s). Before that, it ran perfectly fine. Not one single issue. Then all of a sudden...well...one day when I was driving to work, it's like it lost power. There isn't any knocking/pinging, although the brand new exhaust that I had installed by the dealer, "muffles", when the car is running. It accelerates REALLY slow. Even if I push the gas pedal down as far as possible, it takes it forever to accelerate. I checked the spark plugs, which were fine, but I replaced them with new ones, gaped properly, just to be on the safe side. I also replaced the spark plug "wires", ignition coils, and ignition coil housing. It still does the same stuff. My battery seems fine, however, would a "not so good" battery, cause such problems? I was reading through some stuff online and was wondering if it could be the E.G.R. Valve (whatever exactly that is)? Or ignition module? If anybody could help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it. I couldn't thank you enough. Hopefully someone can. Thanks for reading. Take care.
