I noticed the other day the wife's van was overheating and the heater was not working. I replaced the thermostat with no change.
What I know is during the small test drive, it was cool for the first part, then the temp jumped to 3/4 hot with cold air still coming out the heater.
When I got home I opened the hood and felt the hoses. the upper hose on the passenger side was hot, the lower hose on the drivers side was cold.
I have heard that there might be a coolant pressure valve that I need to open but I do not know where it is or what I am looking for.
Any advise?
Chaos and Scott W, I am pretty sure my problem is not my heater core it self, or at least my only problem is there is a problem with it.
Remember I felt the hoses for my radiator and one was hot (passenger side high) and one was cold (driver side low). At least with the hoses being that way I don't think my main problem is the heater core.
