My daughter is away at school and called me about her front brakes shaking violently from about 25-10 mph, and a significant drop in rpms when this happens. The brakes have maybe 400 miles on them and this problem started without any warning. She says the abs light is on but has been for 2 months. I dont see the rotors being the problem as this started all at once., except for complete failure of the rotor. Could it be the ABS actually doing its thing when the brakes are applied under normal braking conditions. This happened once before when her boyfriend was driving it--he disconnected the battery and it reset. Help please..
