I have a 99 ford ranger xlt, it died on me a couple of times, thought it was the battery so I just kept recharging it, then tested the alternator and it was bad. Now when I try to start it it will make a loud popping noise then lose all power but if I leave it for a second it will slowly gain power, I try starting again and it just sounds like the starter is struggling & almost grinding. Any suggestions? I had the battery tested as well, they said it is 100%. Someone suggested I could have a bad connection.
