99 ford mustang v-6 t5 manual transmission?

in the last two weeks the transmission has been locking out 1st and 2nd gears periodically. at first we were told it was possibly the shift forks but that was ruled out by my BIL after he drove it. said it felt more like the synchros, but inspected it further to be sure. after we located the plug to check the fluid level, he pulled it out and a bunch of fluid poured out, which tells us it was overfilled, which can cause as many problems as not having enough fluid. the fluid was perfectly clear (like it had just been poured form the bottle) which tells us nothing is burning in the trani. the thing we can't figure out is that we've owned the car for a year and the problem just started 2 weeks ago. the trani fluid has never been touched since we bought it. so why has it never been an issue if it's always been over-filled? or is there another problem that is being overlooked? btw....after that extra fluid was drained out they drove it for about 15 miles with no problems.
jo j....ummm...have you seen the price of fuel? lets see 26 mpg or 14.....thanks, i prefer 26!!! i'm not some idiot kid that wants to go hotrodding down the road.
 
Why would you buy a mustang if it has a v6? What is the point of even haveing a mustang if you dont get the v8 you wanabe.
