99 Dodge Stratus oil pressure light flickering! HELP!?

I have a 99 Dodge Stratus that when sitting idle the oil pressure drops and car begins to hesitate, I have been told it could be the oil sending unit and the oil pressure switch, could this be right, when the car is also warm seems to loose some type of fluid, PLEASE HELP or give advice as to what could be wrong.
