I have a 98 club-wagon Ford v10. This van has accumulated 316,000 miles, but I just replaced the engine(which cost me $6,000) about 8 months ago. Tomorrow I am going to replace the Master Cylinder which will cost me $400 because brake fluid is leaking which can ruin my firewall over time.. The transmission cuts in and out and will need to be replaced which will cost another $2,000 in the future. The reason I put money into this vehicle is because it was given to me as a gift. It is still in great shape on the outward appearance.
My question is since I replaced the engine, instead of buying a new vehicle(which I cannot afford right now), and will replace the master cylinder and transmission, isn't the van basically brand new almost now?
What are your professional thoughts and advice.
Thank you for all your help!
I know the value will not increase if I replace the parts on the van, but I just want to make sure it will last me a while longer instead of buying a new car.

Also, with these adjustments, how long will this van last me before I have to buy a new vehicle?
Thanks
