I have just changed one rear axle for the same ratio (3/73) dana 35 axle and found that the replacement is in worse condition than that which it replaced..... I have the 242 selectrac transmission...... Would an axle from a Jeep with a different transmission (249) fit my jeep.. Basically as long as the rear diff ratio is 3/73... does it matter what the transmission is ??????
