Hi Everyone,
I have an 1998 Intruder VL1500LC that I purchased last year.
I have recently had an opportunity to ride but it was still relatively cold. I tried to start the bike after sitting for a few days(I installed a new battery and made sure it was ready for the upcoming season) and tried to start it yesterday. No go, it was like the clutch plates were stuck together, I am saying this because when I had my Yamaha MaximX 750 I had to rock the bike back and forth to realease the clutch plates when the clutch was pulled in to move the bike. I tried to start the bike in 1st gear, clutch pulled in and the bike would lurtch forward as the starter tried to turn the engine over. I then shifted into nuetral and tried, still no go, ended up draining the new battery.
In both senarios the engine would not turn over completely, it was almost like it was hydro locked. I checked the plugs and they were a bit wet but not excessively. Is this a clutch issue or something else? Anyone else experience this problem in the colder weather?
Thanks for any and all information.
Chuck
