My 98 Honda Civic Ex over heated last weak. It had a hole in the top radiator hose. It was fixed and they also put in a new thermostat. I thought everything was working fine until I went on a trip this weekend. Driving down the highway everything was fine. But when I got to where I was going the temperature gauge sky rocketed. (esp when I was in traffic and behind cars) It just varies....at times it doesn't sky rocket and stays where its supposed to be while others....it does.
