98 honda civic o2 sensor.. i changed it and it is still throwing code?

i change the o2 sensor the one before and afte the cath. i even changed the manifold and i even tried disconnecting the batteries but after 2 secs it goes back on again
i tried disconnecting the battery and braking but it still on. about the obdII what is it anyway? doesnt disconnecting the battery restart the computer? anyway.. after disconnecting the battery i put it back on and even drive it to nc 8kmiles but the check engine light is still on
