98 honda accord auto. tansmission v4?

I was wondering exactly what year and what car make, and if i can put a v6 in even though its a v4, of transmissions can fit in my honda?I've called around and some mechanics say only 98 honda v4 auto transmissions will fit in my 98 honda, and others say any car make(like toyota, acura, etc.) and year through 98-2001 and v4 or v6 will fit and work great.help!so confused!also does anyone know where i can get a great auto. transmission for no more than $400 in the bay area, CA.address and business names or auto parts yards would be great.personal experiences and recommendations would be helpful!

Are you trying to replace your automatic transmission from a 4 cyl Accord? If so and your Accord is a 98, you can replace it with only a transmission for the 4 cyl. any 98 thru 2001 should fit.

As for places...well its better to look around shops that specialize in Hondas but for sure it will be $400 and more
