i recently just purchased a 98 dodge ram 2wd 5.2 liter
i bought it for a steal
but i just noticed it doesnt blow heat unless its in acceleration and the fans seem not to be working as in i cant hear the fans blowing when i turn the controls on high
whats wrong

maybe your car has too much ventalation so the engine cant get hot enough, or maybe it has a liquid cooling system so there are no fans and the engine will stay really cool

Your alternator needs to be replaced.

I used to have a Ramcharger that would overheat whenever the a/c went on. I thought it was lack of coolant but then I had the hood open and saw that the radiator fan would shut down when the a/c compressor kicked in. Too much amp draw.

Try getting a new alternator with a higher amp output since it's the alternator that runs everything once the engine is running.
