'98 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel hard to shift, Why?

I just did some work on the transfer case and hub but since putting everything back together, it is really hard some times to get the truck to go into gear. It feels like the clutch is not lining up, when I shift from 2nd to 3rd it wont go in all the way, then after letting the clutch out or pushing really hard it finally goes into gear. It happens more to 3rd gear, but have had the issue in all gears.
 
Have you checked the fluid level in the slave cylinder and the oil in the transmission.You may have a bad synchronizer which will require a tear down. Good Luck
