86,000 miles. i was driving along and a loud noise like a shotgun sounded. transmission fluid all over the road, stopped and put it in park and it started coasting backwards. moves in any gear and has a crunchy noise when you push it. still has half the fluid in it.(its not empty). had it checked two months ago and they said it was fine?!?!? What just happened??? there are no holes in the transmission it leaks at the gasket where the trans bolts to the motor. what could it be???

I'm sorry to tell you, Your trans is blown. It's not even gonna be rebuild able. The differential blew apart. Your gonna need a whole new transmission. There is a hole in your trans you just can't see it. When the trans is removed and the torque converter is pulled out there is gonna be a big hole in the bell housing from the diff. PIN blowing through the case. You might wanna call junk yards to find a new unit. Also make sure who ever replaces your trans, flushes the trans cooler, cause all the metal will be in there. If you don't flush it it'll tear up the new trans. Any other questions just ask.
