I have a 1998 chevy cavalier. recently it started getting really hot. my boyfriend and i have attributed this problem to the thermostat needing to be replaced, because there is no steam coming from the exhaust and it doesn't OVERheat it just gets to the red line and we drop it a gear and the temp gage goes down a little bit. Today though it started just dying, once in the middle of the day i was at a stop sign and when i tried to go it just died like i was in too high a gear (I was in 1st gear and ive been driving this car for 5 years so no i didnt kill it.) then it wouldnt start at all no matter what i did for at least fifteen minutes. finally it started and we brought it back to the house and left it alone for a few hours. then while on his way to work just now it plain just died on my boyfriend. any ideas about whats wrong with my car?ways to fix it? prices? help me?!
